Competing down the road from her AJGA-sponsored event, the Rolex Ranking’s No. 1 player Stacy Lewis captured her third LPGA title of the year at the 2014 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G in Rogers, Arkansas. She posted a final-round score of 6-under-par 65 to finish one stroke ahead of fellow AJGA alumna Cristie Kerr, who finished with a tournament total of 11-under-par 202.
Lewis competed in nine AJGA tournaments as a junior, with her best showing a tie for fourth at the 2002 Aaron's / Bob Estes Abilene Junior. Following her junior career, she attended the University of Arkansas and was a four-time All-American and the 2005 SEC Freshman of the Year.
A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, Kerr earned 13 career junior individual titles. In 1995, she won five AJGA titles, en route to Rolex Junior Player of the Year honors. Other junior highlights include victories at the 1994 Women’s Western Junior and the 1995 Orange Bowl International Junior. She made an appearance at the 1996 Curtis Cup and earned low-amateur honors at the 1996 U.S. Women’s Open.
On the Symetra Tour, AJGA alumna Molly Aronsson won the Island Resort Championship to earn her first professional victory. Aronsson finished with a tournament total 215, making her the only player in the field to shoot under par.
Aronsson’s AJGA career spanned from 2004-06 with a top finish of third at the 2006 Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior. She compiled four top-10 finishes with the AJGA before playing for the University of Washington where she collected two top-10 finishes.
