INTERNATIONAL DELIGHT
Ten countries are represented this week in Beaumont, Calif. at Oak Valley Golf Club. Among those on the list are the Philippines, Thailand, China, Ecuador, Paraguay, Australia, Canada and the United States. The largest U.S. showing comes from the locals in California with a total of 105 juniors represented.
AJGA ACADEMY
The field this week features 14 juniors who have made verbal commitments to colleges and nine that have signed letters of intent. The colleges stretch from Arizona to Notre Dame, to Northwestern and all the way down to Miami.
“WINN-ING”
Juniors received one free re-gripping from Winn Grips during the first and second rounds of this week’s tournament and also received a free grip sample set in their registration gift bags.
REPEAT?
Anthony Cecere of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., is playing in his second AJGA event. In his first, which happens to be at the same facility as this week’s AJGA Junior Challenge at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif., Cecere claimed victory in the Preseason Junior at Oak Valley. He leads this week after the first round, and looks to win his first two AJGA starts.
