Whether it’s Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or Thursday night, you can count on the AJGA’s team at Mission Hills Country Club to be out on the course.
You’ll see them canvassing every fairway and green, filling divots, picking up displaced turf and fixing ball marks at the site of the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior.
Care for the Course originated at the Mission Hills tournament long before the Care for the Course Initiative was coined nation wide at AJGA events in 2007. Other conservation acts began at Mission Hills such as placing recycling containers on each tee box, practice putting green and driving range.
The AJGA staff is not alone on the course this week, Senior Tournament Chairman Michael Bradley leads the way - armed with a turf vacuum - down every fairway until the sun sets over the Coachella Valley.
No matter the time or temperature, the team can count on Bradley to not miss a single detail in leaving the course in better condition than before the qualifier and tournament rounds were played.
His passion for junior golf and the AJGA’s mission statement show in everything he does for this tournament.
This year marks the AJGA’s 30th tournament hosted at Mission Hills Country Club. As the longest-running tournament in AJGA history, it has set the standard for excellence and paves the fairway for an even greener future.
