The Mayakoba Junior Golf Classic has a tournament field of 71 players, but Sunday, the AJGA staff will work with many more golfers than that. The staff will work with around 450 to 500 golfers, to be exact.
Today, the AJGA staff is assisting the staff of the PGA TOUR’s Mayakoba Golf Classic with set up of Golf PARa Todos, a community program intended to bring the game of golf into the lives of the people of Playa del Carmen. The program, now in its fourth year, encourages locals to be both active participants and spectators of the game.
A lot goes in to having 500 people of all ages practicing and playing golf at the same time. A village of tents has been erected on the driving range, as well as having multiple practice stations roped off along the driving range and other practice areas.
Pictured above are Mayakoba Golf Classic Sales & Marketing Manager Veronica Muller and AJGA Tournament Assistant Kyle Maloney as they work to prepare the driving range.
AJGA staff helped place and stock coolers for the event, as well as assisting with stake and rope. An all-hands-on-deck effort was made to be sure Golf PARa Todos was ready for, well…para todos, for everyone.
