No. 8 from 230 yards away… Michael Anderson pulled his 3-iron, hoping to reach the green in two. However, he got more than he bargained for when his ball disappeared into the ground, sinking a double eagle. Astonished with his shot, Anderson immediately went into celebration with fellow competitor Jason Chen.
“It was great!” Anderson said. “I waved my hat around and threw my hands in the air.”
Anderson finished the second round with an even-par 72 and credited the double eagle as being not only the highlight of his round, but the swing that saved the day.
“I hadn’t had a birdie all day and all of a sudden one shot and I’m back in it,” Anderson said. “It really saved my round.”
